For the past thirty years, pottery has been the canvas on which I shape my artistic journey. My involvement with this timeless craft began humbly in a local studio, a space that introduced me to the fundamental techniques and the meditative rhythm of working with clay. Over the years, as my passion deepened, I transitioned to a more intimate setting—a home studio, where my creations have grown in depth and personality. The natural world has always been my greatest muse; the intricate text and shapes of leaves, the gentle curves, and the spectrum of colors in my surroundings profoundly influence my work. I often wander to the Brandywine River and the Arden Woods, where the serene landscapes and rich textures of the foliage inspire the organic lines and earthy tones of my pottery. Each piece is a narrative of these explorations, capturing the essence of the environment that nurtures my creativity. Recently, my artistic expression has flourished as part of the Arden Artisans Collective, a vibrant group of artists whose shared passion for nature and craftsmanship fuels my inspiration. This collective offers a wellspring of ideas and perspectives, pushing me to refine my techniques and explore new dimensions in my pottery. The synergy within this group, coupled with the ever-changing beauty of the natural world, continually rejuvenates my artistic vision. As I mold each vessel and sculptural piece, I strive to echo the delicate balance and harmony I find in the woods and by the river, blending form and function in ways that resonate with the serene and dynamic forces of nature.
